The King's Speech, di Tom Hooper, fa il pieno di nomination, con ben dodici candidature, e si prepara a fare il pienone nella serata degli Oscar, in programma il prossimo 27 febbraio a Los Angeles. Il film sulla monarchia inglese è candidato, tra gli altri, come miglior film, miglior attore (Colin Firth), miglior attrice e attore non protagonisti (Helena Bonham Carter e Geoffrey Rush).True Grit, remake del western Il Grinta segue con 10 nomination. Mentre sono otto le candidature per Inception (che deve però rinunciare alla gara per il miglior regista) e The Social Network.
